1st Archery Championship will be held in Jammu from 21st March, stated Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament (MP) Lok Sabha Jammu-Poonch & President Archery Association Jammu & Kashmir.
Jugal accompanied by Pramod Chandurkar Hon. General Secretary AAI, Sunil Sharma Chairman Advisory Committee AAI, Vikas Gupta Joint Secretary AAJK, Sahil Sharma Executive Member AAJK, Ashutosh Sharma President Olympics Association J&K said that Archery championship in collaboration with NTPC, Archery Association of India and J&K Sports Council is going to be held from 21st of March to 30th of March 2022 at M.A Stadium Jammu.
Jugal Kishore Sharma while addressing media persons said that it is first time in the history that Archery Championship is going to be held in Jammu and such type of Mega Event is being organized, in which National and International Players will participate.
He said that Archery Association of India (AAI) is the national governing body of Archery in India and its National President Sh. Arjun Munda is dedicatedly working to uplift the sport. He said that the Archery Association of India is affiliated with the World Archery Federation, Asian Archery Federation & Indian Olympics Association funded under the Ministry of Youth Services & Sports for promoting archery games in India. Archery Associated of Jammu and Kashmir came into enforcement in 1989 for promoting Archery in Jammu and Kashmir but ignored by the previous Governments.
Member of Parliament & President (AAJK) said that under the stewardship of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi Ji promotion in games and sports has been keenly promoted and morale of the players have been boosted. He said that in recent National and International tournaments Indian Players have shown their best performances and brought laurels to the Country and spread its fame all over the world.
President AAJK feel pleasure to announce that this historical Archery Championship bringing laud to the Jammu & Kashmir is going to be held in three rounds Recurve ,Compound and Indian Round & more than 1000 players at National and International level are going to take part in this Archery Championship and with Staff and Trainers.
Jugal Kishore said that In the championship, the international Archery Players (Star Players) from India will participate in this mega championship.
In recurve category Deepika Kumari-Padma Shri, ARjuna Awardee and Olympian,Antanu Das Arjuna Awardee and Olympian,Tarundeep Rai Padamshree, Arjuna Awardee and Olympian,Jayant Taluk Dar Arjuna Awardee,Parveen Jadhav Olympian & In compound category Abhishek Verma Arjuna Awardee,Aman Saini Asian Games Medalist,Rajat Chauhan Arjuna Awardee,Rakesh Kumar Para-Olympian will also be taking part in this championship.
